About

The Primary Classic Dressage show was started by two equestrian friends Caroline Peck and June Samson in 2004. The show was held at the Nepean National Equestrian Park (Wesley Clover) until 2012. From 2013 - 2015 the show was held at Numech Equestrian Centre. In 2016 the show moved to International Equestrian Centre in Wendover, Ontario.

The show has always been about giving back to the dressage community in the Ottawa area. The goal was to create an event that would provide riders the opportunity to ride in the “big” ring and experience what an upper level event felt like but at the schooling level.

Did you know the money raised from each year’s show goes directly to next year? That is right. There is no profit that goes into the organizers pockets. All the money raised goes to paying for the venue, judge, ribbons, prizes and what is leftover remains for next year.

Our happiness has been seeing schooling barns and horses return  year after year as well as knowing that some riders and horses have moved onto the Silver and Gold Show circuits.

In 2011 when June wiped her hands of the riding experience for personal reasons Caroline picked up the reins and has continued to run the show.

In 2017 International Equestrian Centre began hosting Silver Shows. As there were limited Silver Shows being offered in the East End of Ottawa we wanted to provide the riders of the East End with 1 more venue for showing. This show offers a very generous cash prize that you will not want to miss out on plus a free Argentinian Asado (BBQ).

For all of you have a supported the Primary Classic Dressage Show and the IEC Silver Show over the years – thank you!
